How to · Listening together

Play on

Move what's playing to another device or a network streamer, and back.

Where to find it

  • iPhone and iPad: the speaker icon in the Home and Library headers.
  • Mac: the speaker icon in the player bar.
  • The icon is tinted while you're connected to another device.

Play on lists This device, your linked devices and the streamers on your network: BluOS, UPnP/DLNA, and Google Cast through Sterio Server 0.2.9 or later. If one is missing, tap Search again, or Not listed? Enter its IP address.

Send the music somewhere else

  1. 1Open Play on and choose a device.
  2. 2The whole session moves there: the queue, the track, the position, playing or paused. The device you left goes quiet and shows where the music went.
  3. 3The card now reads Connected to … with what plays. Tap Disconnect, play here to bring the session back; it keeps playing.

Streamers

With a streamer, Sterio Server plays the queue on it and your phone is only the remote, so you can lock it. The Signal Path shows the streamer's chain.

Without Sterio Server, you can still choose Jellyfin players and UPnP streamers. Linked devices and listening sessions need Sterio Server.
