How to · Your library

Find artwork and tidy artists

Fill in missing covers and artist photos, and merge artists spelled two ways.

Needs Sterio Server.

Where to find it

  • Dashboard › Artists & artwork.

Fill in everything at once

  • Fill missing album covers looks for local or embedded artwork first, then MusicBrainz and the Cover Art Archive.
  • Fill missing artist photos looks for artist, portrait or fanart images in your folders first, then Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons, and keeps the credits.
  • Both keep the images you already have, and you can stop them at any time.

Pick one by hand

  1. 1Type in Library item and pick the album or artist. Show all albums lists them.
  2. 2Tap Find artwork, check the preview and its credits.
  3. 3Tap Use this image. Use original artwork undoes it.

Merge duplicate artists

Merge duplicate artists suggests artists written in different ways. Use Review merge, then Merge artists. Applied merges lists them, each with Undo. Merging never changes your tags or files.

Only names are sent to MusicBrainz and Wikimedia, and no API key is needed. Refresh the library in the app to see the changes.

Without Sterio Server

On an SMB share, Sterio finds covers by itself: a cover or folder picture, an artwork subfolder, the largest picture, the parent folder for CD1 and CD2, or the picture embedded in the first track.
