Split CUE albums into tracks
Turn an album stored as one big file and a .cue sheet into real tracks.
Needs Sterio Server, with write access to the music folder (MUSIC_ACCESS=rw in Docker).
Where to find it
- Dashboard › Library tools › Split albums into tracks.
- Or in the app, on an admin device: Settings › Server administration › Split albums into tracks.
Some albums are one long FLAC, WAV or DSD file with a .cue sheet that says where each track starts. Splitting writes sample-accurate FLAC tracks, with tags, into a hidden .sterio-tracks folder next to the album. The original file and its CUE stay untouched.
Split
- 1Open Library tools on the dashboard, or Server administration in the app.
- 2Tap Split albums into tracks. Albums stay playable while it works.
- 3Re-split all albums writes them again, for example after you fix a CUE sheet.
Choose what plays
In the app, Settings › Playback › CUE albums: Tracks plays the split tracks, Full file plays the original image. Mixes only use real tracks.
Other sources, such as SMB, Plex or Jellyfin, play a CUE image as one whole file.
