The words and labels you'll see in Sterio.
Where to find it
- Mostly in the Signal Path, Settings › Playback and the track details.
- Bit-perfect: your DAC gets exactly the samples in the file.
- Pure Audio (Settings › Playback): asks the output for the file's own sample rate.
- DoP: DSD over PCM. DSD packed into PCM frames, so a DAC gets real DSD over USB. Shown as Original DSD bits packed into DoP frames; no PCM conversion and DSD bypass · no DSP. EQ and gain are bypassed.
- DSD to PCM conversion (setting): plays DSD as FLAC from the server when the output can't take DoP. Shown as DSD → PCM fallback · Server FLAC.
- DST: compressed DSD from SACD disc images. The server decodes it to PCM: SACD ISO · DST decoded to PCM.
- DSD ISO / DST ISO: tags on tracks that come from an SACD disc image.
- FLAC frames repacked on server: a lossless repack for compatibility. The samples, rate and bit depth stay the same.
- Original file · Direct play: the file as it is, with nothing in between.
- Downloaded: playing a copy saved on the device.
- Exclusive (Mac): Sterio has the DAC to itself.
- Crossfade (Settings › Playback): blends one track into the next. DSD stays unchanged.
- Live Spectrum: a live display of the music's frequencies.
- DSD files to streamers: sends DSD files to DLNA streamers that don't list DSD, and falls back to PCM on its own if they can't play it.
- Listener profile, Play on, Listening session, Linked servers: see Listener profiles, Play on, Listening sessions and Linked servers.
